The BARNETT CLUTCH BASKET OFF-ROAD ALUMINUM, clutch. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

The clutch basket houses the entire plate stack and transfers power from the crank. Hard acceleration causes the friction plate tabs to hammer against the basket tangs. This creates grooves that stop the clutch from disengaging cleanly. Replacing a notched basket restores smooth lever feel and precise shifting. Most aftermarket baskets require you to transfer your OEM primary gear. This involves drilling out factory rivets and using the supplied fasteners with high-strength thread lock. Check your cushions for play while the assembly is apart to ensure a complete repair.
