This machined alloy housing is a significant upgrade over factory cast components. It sits on the primary drive side and contains the friction pack. Standard units often develop grooves that cause the plates to stick. This results in drag and difficult gear changes. This unit uses high-grade materials to resist notching and improve heat dissipation. You will need to transfer your original primary gear to this assembly. It is designed for hard-use race bikes where reliability and consistent lever feel are paramount. Always use a new gasket when refitting the cover.
