It bolts to the front axle on the supplied model-specific bracket and sits over the rotor and caliper to take rock and roost before they reach the brake. Packed mud on the disc cooks pads and accelerates wear, so this earns its keep in hard enduro and stony going. Fitting means pulling the front axle to seat the spacer square against the fork lug. Check your axle diameter first so the bracket sits flush and the wheel torques up clean.
