This mud flap protects the rear shock and linkage from direct spray. It mounts to the bottom of the airbox. Mud and stones from the rear tyre will eventually tear or wear through the plastic. A damaged flap allows grit to enter the shock linkage and ruin the bearings. This part is a direct replacement for the OEM unit. Ensure the mounting surface is clean before installation.
