Mounts at the airbox and shields the rear shock and linkage from the spray flung up off the rear wheel on the YZ 250 F and YZ 450 F. Keep that area clean and the shock shaft and seals run longer between rebuilds. Uses the factory airbox fixings for a direct fit. These flaps go brittle and split at the mounting holes after a season of grit and pressure washing, which is why a fresh one earns its keep. Verify tyre clearance once it's bolted up.
