This Cycra mudflap mounts behind the airbox and shields the rear shock and linkage from direct roost. Grit thrown off the rear wheel chews shock shafts and seal lips. The flap takes that hit instead. It fits Honda's CRF 250 and CRF 450 platform, the R, RX, X and RL variants, and bolts to the standard airbox fasteners. Stock flaps go brittle and split after a few muddy seasons. This one runs a flexible polymer that keeps taking the impacts. Cheap insurance for the most expensive parts on the bike.
