These units sit in the caliper and offer a softer initial bite compared to metallic options. They reduce rotor wear and are suited for trial or light trail use where extreme heat is less common. Replace when the friction material is thin or if contaminated by fork oil or fluid. Always inspect the piston seals for leaks when the parts are removed. Clean the disc with a dedicated brake cleaner before installation.
