Notchy steering at centre? Head shake off the lip? That's your steering head bearings indented at straight-ahead — the tapers in the frame neck have dug pits into the races and the bars want to centre themselves. Pull the triple clamps, drift the old races out of the headstock and steering stem, press the new ones in clean, pack the tapers with waterproof grease and torque to spec before setting preload. Race Series kit covers Suzuki RM 125, the full Yamaha YZ 125/250 two-strokes and YZ 400/426/450 F four-strokes, plus Fantic XX 125 and XEF 250/450. Front end goes light and predictable again.
