What it is

Right, this is the outer wiper that sits above your fork oil seal on a 43mm Showa leg. Its job is dead simple: scrape mud, grit and track spray off the stanchion before it reaches the oil seal underneath. Get a torn dust seal and you'll be replacing oil seals every other weekend, with fork oil down your boots. Moose do their own take on the 43x54.2 size, so it drops in where the original Showa wiper came out. Pop it in any time you've got the forks apart for a service or an oil-seal swap. Cheap insurance for your lowers.
