What it is
The Moose Offroad STARTER SWITCH, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
Right-hand bar-mounted button that engages the starter solenoid. The contacts and return spring wear out fast in mud and after repeated jet-washing, and once it stops bridging the circuit the engine won't turn over. A straight replacement for the Yamaha part on the TT-R 230, WR 250 F and WR 450 F. Check your plug against the existing one before ordering. Clean the terminals and add a smear of dielectric grease at fitting to seal the connection and stop water tracking into the housing.
