Over time, valve seats wear and clearances tighten, necessitating a shim change to restore factory specifications. Use these during your routine top-end service or after a full head rebuild. Always measure your existing gap with feeler gauges and verify the new shim thickness with a micrometer before installation. Block the cam chain tunnel with a clean rag to prevent shims from falling into the bottom end.
