This hot start cable connects the handlebar lever to the carburettor. It replaces OEM references 17950-KRN-000 and 17950-MEN-850. The hot start circuit is vital for restarting a four-stroke engine after a stall by leaning out the fuel mixture. Corrosion or dirt inside the housing causes the plunger to stick, leading to poor idling or difficult starting. Ensure the cable has enough free play to allow the plunger to seat fully when the lever is released. Lubricate the inner wire before installation to maintain a light, responsive feel.
