This component sits on the engine countershaft to drive the final transmission. It is the hardest-working part of your drivetrain due to the small radius and high rotation speed. Steel construction ensures it handles the torque of a modern four-stroke or high-revving two-stroke. Replace this part whenever you fit a new chain or if the teeth show visible hooking. A worn drive gear will rapidly destroy a new chain. Ensure the circlip or lock washer is seated correctly during installation. The 520 pitch is a direct replacement for the OEM unit on your bike.
