Dropping to a 12T sprocket provides more immediate bottom-end torque for technical enduro or tight woods riding. This steel component sits on the countershaft and is the hardest-working part of your drivetrain. Replace it as soon as the teeth show signs of hooking to protect your chain and rear sprocket. The self-cleaning mud grooves help prevent dirt build-up between the teeth and chain rollers. Always use a new lock washer and check your chain tension after installation, as the smaller diameter will require more slack adjustment at the swingarm.
