What it is
The RICK'S MOTORSPORT ELECTRIC COIL IGNITION, ignition coils. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
This coil converts low voltage from the battery or stator into the high voltage needed to jump the spark plug gap. It is usually bolted to the frame backbone under the fuel tank. Cracked casings or internal shorts are common reasons for replacement, often causing the bike to bog under load. This unit covers multiple OEM references including 21121-0029 and 21121-1269. Ensure the HT lead is trimmed and screwed firmly into the coil body for a weatherproof connection. Check your earth strap is clean for the best performance.
