Carbon wraps for the lower run of the upper fork tube — the strike zone where stones thrown off the front wheel hammer the stanchion. Catch enough chips there and the seal eats them on every stroke; that's where 85cc fork seals start weeping. This is an 85-only kit, covering the smaller stanchion diameters across CR 85 R, KX 85, RM 85, YZ 85, SX 85, TC 85, MC 85 and TM MX 85. Both 17/14 small-wheel and 19/16 big-wheel chassis are covered. Strap on, no fork strip required. Wipe the tube down with brake cleaner before fitting.
