This 14T steel sprocket is built for the high torque output of a 450 engine. It mounts to the countershaft and provides a taller gearing ratio, making the bike more manageable on fast, flowing tracks. Steel offers significantly better wear resistance than aluminium front sprockets in harsh off-road conditions. Inspect the teeth for hooking or thinning every few rides. A worn front sprocket will quickly ruin a new chain, so replace them as a set whenever possible. Ensure the retaining nut is torqued to factory specifications to prevent damage to the output shaft splines.
