Slide bushes ride on the inner tube and carry the sliding load through every stroke of the fork. The teflon facing wears thin with hours, copper shows through, and stiction climbs until the front end feels notchy off small chop. Spec'd for 47mm Showa twin-chamber forks on the CR250R, CRF250R/450R, KX250F and RM/RM-Z 125-450. Cheap insurance during a seal kit swap — fitting new seals over tired bushes is false economy, since the worn surface lets the stanchion knock and chews the new seal lips inside a few rides. Change them in pairs.
