This coarse foam layer fits over your primary filter to trap heavy silt and sand before it reaches the finer inner foam. It is essential for dry summer tracks or deep sand sessions where dust loading is high. Using this allows for quicker mid-moto servicing. You simply pull the cover off to reveal a clean primary filter underneath. It saves time during race weekends and reduces the frequency of full airbox cleans.
