Monoshock air-cooled trail two-stroke. Big-bore single, plenty of torque off the bottom, so the drivetrain takes a hammering. Check chain tension, sprocket wear and rear hub bearings often. Keep the top end fresh or compression drops off and it gets lazy. Watch the points, clean the air filter, and don't let the silencer pack out. Look after it and the DT 250 MX still pulls hard in the rough.
