These drive plates sit between your friction plates to transfer power from the basket to the gearbox. Overheating causes these to warp or discolour, leading to clutch drag and inconsistent lever feel. Check your stack height against OEM specifications when rebuilding the pack. If your old plates show blueing or heavy glazing, they require immediate replacement. These are sold individually for precise stack adjustment or partial refreshes. Ensure you soak any new friction plates in fresh oil before assembly to prevent premature wear on these steel surfaces.
