Showa 47mm fork sits on every 250 and 450 CRF you'll wheel into the workshop, plus the older CR 250 R and a swag of Kawasaki and Suzuki MX iron running the same tube. This is the wiper that sits on top of the oil seal and keeps the worst of the silt, grit and roost out of the bushings. You change it when you split the forks for an oil service, or sooner if the stanchions are picking up dirt rings after a wet meeting. Pop the old one off, give the groove a clean, slide the new one down the tube with a bit of fork oil on the lip. Job done in five minutes a leg. Buy them in pairs.
