Heavy-duty support is required when the stock coil cannot handle your weight or luggage. This part fits the rear shock and provides the stiffness needed for a balanced chassis. It sits around the shock body, held by the preload collars. If you have exhausted your preload adjustment and the bike still sits too low, this firmer rate is necessary. Proper selection prevents the shock from operating too deep in the valving. This results in better traction and reduced fatigue during long motos or trail rides.
