Slide bushings ride on the stanchion and take the side-load every time the fork compresses. The 47mm size covers Showa and KYB cartridge forks across late-model CR250R, CRF250R/450R, CRF250X/450X, KX250F, RM-Z250/450 and RMX450Z. When the dark friction layer wears through and you see copper bleeding underneath, the fork starts feeling harsh off small chop and chews seals within a few rides. Pull them with the upper slides at every seal service. Fit as a pair with new dust seals and oil seals, set the oil height to spec, and the front end tracks straight again.
