This rubber inner sits inside the tyre carcass to maintain air pressure on the track or trail. It is held in place by the rim lock and valve nut. Replace these during a tyre change if you notice any chafing or heat-related thinning of the material. The straight metal valve stem is the industry standard for off-road wheels. Use tyre soap or talc during installation to help the unit seat correctly and prevent pinches from your levers. Check your rim tape for spoke protrusion before fitting.
