This steel component mounts directly to your rear hub to drive the final transmission. It handles the torque load from the chain under heavy acceleration. Steel construction is the standard for UK enduro and muddy MX tracks where aluminium wears too fast. Replace this part when you notice the teeth hooking or thinning to avoid snapping chain rollers. Always fit a new chain when swapping sprockets to ensure the pitch matches perfectly. Check your hub bolt torque specs before installation. Use thread lock on the sprocket bolts to prevent them backing out during a moto.
