What it is
The POLISPORT AIRBOX COVER ORANGE, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
The airbox cover closes off the side of the intake and keeps mud and roost away from the filter. It comes off every time you service, so the tab and the latch face wear out long before anything else. This is a moulded replacement for KTM EXC and SX-F twin-spar frames, dimensioned to the original so the seal stays tight against the airbox and the filter cage seats square. A loose or cracked cover lets grit past the filter, and grit is what kills a top end. Pull the old one, clip the new one on, done in a minute.
