What it is

The UFO FORK SLIDER PROTECTORS YAMAHA YZ/YZF REFLEX-BLUE, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

Bolt-on plastic guards that clamp to the lower fork legs and cover the chrome stanchions where roost and stones hit hardest. A single nick on the slider face will chew a fork seal inside a lap, then weep oil down the lower leg until the front end packs down. Fitment is dialled for YZ/YZF chassis: WR 250 F, WR 450 F, YZ 125, YZ 250, YZ 250 F, YZ 450 F and YZ 450 F SP. Mounts to the factory lugs, no drilling. Swap them once they crack or go chalky from UV. Cheap insurance against a seal job.
