Discs do the heat work. Stopping power lives or dies on the rotor's ability to shed temperature without warping. Check minimum thickness stamped on the carrier. Look for blueing, scoring, or a lip on the friction face. Solid rotors hold feel in mud and grit. Floating designs run cooler under repeat hard stops. Confirm diameter and bolt pattern before you order. Fit fresh pads with a new disc and bed them properly before you push it.
