What it is
The BARNETT CLUTCH FRICTION PLATE KEVLAR EACH, clutch. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
This friction plate uses a Kevlar compound to handle higher operating temperatures than standard cork-based alternatives. It sits within the clutch pack and provides the bite needed for aggressive starts and heavy lugging in technical sections. Friction material wears down over time, reducing the total stack height and causing slip under load. Replace these when you notice the lever biting point migrating or when the bike struggles to put power down in higher gears. Always soak new plates in the same oil you run in your gearbox for at least four hours before fitting.
