Standard coils are often too soft for the average UK enduro rider carrying full kit. This component allows you to set your sag correctly without excessive preload. It sits on the rear shock and manages the bike's stance and weight transfer. A firmer rate keeps the rear higher in the stroke, improving fork action and turn-in precision. If your current coil is wound to the limit of its threads, you need this higher rate. Clean the shock body thoroughly before sliding the new part into place.
