What it is

Heidenau's 18E tube is the standard-wall option for enduro rear wheels running 18-inch rubber. Lighter than a heavy-duty tube, so the rear shock tracks small chatter cleaner on rooty singletrack and stony fire roads. Fit one when you spot rubber fatigue, after a pinch puncture, or as part of a proper tyre service. Inspect your rim tape first and dress any proud spoke nipples. Dust the tube with tyre powder so it seats without grabbing the carcass. The 34G angled valve clears standard off-road rims, and the rim lock has to be tight against the bead or the valve will shear under hard drive.
