What it is
The Moose Offroad DUST SEAL 48.X58.50 SHO, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
A 48x58.5 dust seal for 48mm forks. It sits at the mouth of the outer tube and wipes mud, water and sand off the stanchion before any of it reaches the oil seal below. Let it perish or split and grit walks straight past, wrecking your oil seal and contaminating the damping in short order. Cheap insurance, so swap it with the oil seal at every rebuild. It fits firm to keep contaminants out under hard riding. Seat it fully or it'll pop loose on a heavy bottoming. Covers the same broad 48mm fork range across the enduro and motocross marques.
