What it is

The Moose Offroad FORKOILSEAL 48X58.1, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

A 48x58.1 fork oil seal for 48mm stanchions. It's the wall between your damping oil and the trail, set in the lower leg. Hard enduro work cycles it constantly, and mud or sand grinds the inner lip until the leg leaks. Fitting a fresh one brings the damping back and stops oil reaching the brake. With the forks apart, check the bushings for play and the stanchion for scoring. Drive it in flush with a seal bullet so the lip seats clean. Wide fitment across the 48mm coil and air forks on Honda, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, Sherco, Beta and more.
