What it is

A 2.15" rim lock is the rear-wheel standard on every modern 250 and 450 four-stroke, plus most 125 and 250 two-strokes. The rubber jacket sits between the alloy body and the tube, so a hard landing or a careless tyre lever won't pinch the carcass. Run low pressures in deep sand or claggy mud and the lock holds the bead against the rim while the tyre tries to spin. Fit it opposite the valve, torque the nut once with the tyre seated, then back it off for the second seat. Check the rubber for splits and the stud for stretch at every tyre change.
