This countershaft sprocket sits on the engine output shaft to drive your chain. It is a high-wear component that demands regular inspection. Replace it when you notice hooked teeth or a thinned profile to prevent chain damage. Grit and mud accelerate wear here faster than at the rear due to the tighter radius.
