This cast-iron valve seat is pressed into the cylinder head to provide a durable sealing surface for the valve face. It is the primary contact point for heat transfer from the valve to the head. Replace the seat if the original is cracked, deeply recessed, or has been cut too many times. Fitting a new seat requires specialist equipment to ensure it is perfectly concentric with the valve guide. Once installed, it must be cut to the correct angles to match your valves. This part is vital for restoring compression in your bike.
