The pivot pin is the fulcrum your clutch lever swings on inside the perch. It wears and goes oval over time, which shows up as a sloppy lever and clutch take-up that moves around on you. Drop in a fresh aluminium chrome pin and the lever feels tight again. It passes through the lever bore and locks with a nut or circlip underneath. Worth checking any time the bars come off for a control refresh or top-end. Grease the shaft on fitting to keep the bushing alive and the action smooth.
