This protector is engineered for the Yamaha Tenere chassis. It shields the engine sump and lower frame rails from heavy impacts. The extended coverage is necessary for off-road use where rocks can puncture the cases. It mounts securely to the frame to distribute force away from the engine. The smooth underside helps the bike slide over obstacles. Clean the area between the plate and the engine regularly to prevent heat build-up from trapped mud. This is a model-specific part for serious adventure riding.
