This chain synchronises your crank and camshafts within the top-end. Over time, the pins and plates wear. This causes the chain to stretch and retards your ignition timing. Replace this during your scheduled top-end service or if your cam chain tensioner is near its limit. A fresh chain restores precise valve timing and prevents engine damage. This part is model-specific to ensure the correct link count and pitch. It is a direct replacement for the factory component. Always check your timing marks twice during the install.
