This cable manages the hand-operated parking brake system. It runs from the handlebar lever to the rear brake actuator. Ingress of dirt and water into the housing causes the inner wire to seize, making the park brake difficult to engage or release. Replacing a stiff cable restores smooth operation and ensures your bike remains stationary when parked on inclines. This part is built to factory specifications for a straightforward installation.
