This chain roller manages chain slack on the underside of the swingarm to prevent the chain from slapping the frame. It sits on a dedicated boss near the footpegs. The internal bearings allow the roller to spin freely as the chain passes over it. Replace this part if the roller develops flat spots or the bearings seize. A seized roller will cause rapid chain wear and increased noise. This Yamaha-specific part is a direct swap for the stock component and maintains correct chain geometry.
