This 39mm kit contains both oil and dust seals for a complete fork service. These components are housed in the fork sliders, where they prevent oil leaks and block dirt from entering the damping system. On older or smaller bikes, seals often fail due to the rubber hardening over time. Before installing the new set, ensure the stanchions are smooth and free of debris. Use a seal bullet or thin plastic to protect the seal lips as they pass over the stanchion ends. Replacing the dust wipers at the same time as the oil seals provides the best protection against future leaks.
